L’età avanza ma Olivier Giroud resta il bomber di livello del Milan. Il centravanti francese è il giocatore di esperienza che riesce a fare la differenza, portare peso all’attacco rossonero e segnare gol pesanti. Pioli questo lo sa bene e per questo la dirigenza ha già cominciato a pensare a un possibile rinnovo di contratto. Intervistato da Le Journal du Dimanche Giroud ha rivelato: «Non sono eterno. Finché il mio corpo me lo permetterà, cercherò di superare i miei limiti, anche se io non me ne pongo nessuno. Voglio la seconda stella. Rinnovo? Il mio contratto con il Milan scade il prossimo giugno. Non ne ho ancora parlato con la società, ma vorrei restare. Sono convinto di poter essere ancora utile a questa squadra».
L’attaccante francese vorrebbe quindi rimanere a Milano, città in cui è amato dai tifosi e dove ha trovato una seconda giovinezza. Molto però dipenderà dalle scelte del Milan, che dovrà capire se puntare ancora o meno su un giocatore di 37 anni.
Secondo i quotidiani francesi il futuro di Giroud è un rebus. Se il Milan dovesse infatti comprare davvero David dal Lille, allora per il francese ci sarebbe molto meno spazio in squadra. L’attaccante canadese ha infatti solo 23 anni e sarebbe pronto a diventare il titolare dell’attacco rossonero a lungo. I discorsi per il rinnovo non sono ancora iniziati: Giroud dovrà sarà costretto ad aspettare ancora un po’.
